How to Take Care of Your Jewelry
Because beauty deserves to be cherished.
At Ether, our jewelry carries the soul of antique heirlooms—pieces made to be worn, loved, and passed on. Though our designs echo centuries past, your jewelry is still a part of your modern life. A little care goes a long way in keeping it radiant for years to come.
General Care Tips
- Put it on last, take it off first. Jewelry should be the final touch to your outfit and the first thing you remove at the end of the day. Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, hairsprays, and oils.
- Remove before water exposure. Ether pieces are not waterproof. Take them off before showering, swimming, or washing hands to prevent tarnishing or loosening of stones.
- Store mindfully. Keep each piece in a soft pouch or box, away from direct sunlight, moisture, or extreme temperatures. Avoid letting pieces touch to prevent scratches.
- Keep away from cleaning products and chemicals. Even natural cleaners and essential oils can damage finishes and enamel.
Cleaning Your Jewelry
- Gold-Plated & Sterling Silver: Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth. For a deeper clean, use mild soap and warm water, then dry thoroughly. Avoid polishing cloths with harsh chemicals.
- Gemstones & Enamel: Clean with a soft, damp cloth only. Never soak or scrub enamel or delicate stones, as it can cause fading or cracking.
- Pearls: Pearls are sensitive to everything. Wipe with a soft cloth after wear and keep them in a breathable pouch—not airtight plastic.
Caring for Ether-Specific Designs
- Black Enamel Pieces (like the Mourning Victorian Collection): These are especially delicate. Treat like miniature works of art—clean gently and avoid knocking against hard surfaces.
- Stacked or Multi-Stone Rings: Check regularly to make sure stones are secure. Avoid wearing during heavy manual work or workouts.
- Vintage-Style Chains and Necklaces: Be careful not to tug or tangle. Lay flat or hang when storing to prevent kinks.
